Hello, we are Community for Food

We are a team of local volunteers who weekly pick and pack groceries, cleaning products and hygiene products to help families referred from our local schools in the Currie, Balerno and Juniper Green Villages outside Edinburgh.

We are a community food provision project, set up as a fully constituted group with our own bank account. We are on the path to becoming a charity.

We are all about helping. If you want to volunteer with us just send us an email or call us . We would love for you to join us. We are looking for like-minded helpful people who believe in our aims:

Our Aims:

1- Aim to address immediate needs in the community for vulnerable families experiencing food poverty.

2- Aim to work with the local schools to identify their requirements and number of families and work with the schools to distribute food parcels.

3- Aim to provide a food parcel to families on a weekly basis or as and when required 

4- Aim to publish to families in need the local foodbank details so they can access further food if needed.

5- Aim to fundraise and work with local groups and businesses to pay for food parcels and replenish food boxes within schools.

6- Aim to partner with local charities so our families can access a wide range of holistic services like benefits advice etc.

7- Aim to partner with schools to provide volunteering opportunities for students on the path to receive their Duke of Edinburgh awards.
